Karina Yu

Karina Yu is a third-year student at UCSD, working toward an Economics major and a Political Science minor. This is her seventh year doing MUN, and she has staffed four TritonMUN conferences. Outside of MUN, she likes to do art, watch movies, and travel around the world.

sreeya kantubuktha

Sreeya Kantubuktha is a third-year General Biology major at ERC. She spent 8 years in south India and first began Model UN in high school. This is her first year participating in MUN at UCSD. She loves to knit, watch anime, and play Stardew Valley. She’s excited for the opportunity to guide the next generation of MUNers!


Under-secretary-general of committees: justin piastro

Justin Piastro is a fourth-year International Studies-Political Science major born in the city of San Diego (he thinks this is the best city on Earth). He has been doing MUN for almost eight years, starting when he was just a freshman in high school. He fell in love with debate and politics, wanting to pursue a path in education which would hopefully one day lead him to doing diplomatic work. Justin enjoys high-fantasy, science fiction, and debating international relations. 


Under-secretary-General of Logistics: Nicolas Rodriguez

Nicolas Rodriguez is a fourth-year Political Science major and a History minor. He has been in Model UN for three years and held various roles. This TritonMUN might be his last so he is very excited to be a part of the behind-the-scenes. Outside of MUN he likes watching movies, traveling, and playing Tiny Towers.

Lauren Gumarang is a first-year Public Health Policy and Management major, also minoring in Political Science. While this is her first year in MUN, she is both excited and honored to be involved in TritonMUN. In her free time, she enjoys origami, embroidery, jewelry-making, or anything else involving handmade goods.


Deputy Under-secretary-general of Committees: Yoyo Yang

Luhan "Yoyo" Yang is a first-year Political Science-International Relations major at Eleanor Roosevelt College, and she is excited to be part of the TritonMUN Upper Secretariat this spring. She was introduced to MUN during seventh grade, and this is her seventh year involved in inciting chaos within conferences. In Yoyo's free time, she enjoys learning about fine art history, practicing diverse languages, playing instruments, and reading bad fanfiction.


DEPUTY Under-secretary-General of Logistics: Jesse Wu

Hailing from the SF Bay Area, Jesse Wu is a first-year student in UCSD’s Eleanor Roosevelt College majoring in International Studies-Political Science and minoring in Japanese Studies. He hopes to eventually join the foreign service and work in diplomacy. This is his first year in MUN, and he’s excited to contribute to a positive diplomatic environment! Outside of MUN and his studies, Jesse is an avid musician; he currently sings with both the student a cappella group Duly Noted and the La Jolla Symphony Chorus.


Crisis Director: Nathaniel Wood

Nathaniel Wood is a third-year Microbiology major and Literature/Writing minor at UCSD’s Marshall College. He has been doing Model UN since his junior year of high school, where he was one of the club’s founding members. Outside of Model UN, he likes to read, write, play video games, and practice taekwondo.


Deputy Crisis Director: William Huang

William Huang is a second-year Math-Economics major working towards Data Science and History minors. This is his seventh year in MUN, and he has staffed two TritonMUN conferences. He likes to talk about history and play video games.


Deputy Crisis Director: Adam Allibhoy

Adam Allibhoy is a first-year at Revelle College majoring in Neurobiology. He was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, and this is his eighth year doing MUN. His hobbies include watching basketball and soccer, researching obscure Tolkien lore, playing games on his Switch, and going to sleep just after sunrise.



We are joined by many more students of the University of California, San Diego in helping to host TritonMUN XXVII – Spring 2024. We would like to thank them for their help, knowledge, and dedication to hosting the best TritonMUN yet!
