Description

The year is 1933, and the Great Depression has the United States in shambles. Uncontrollable deflation has paralyzed the economy, and the average citizen struggles endlessly to make ends meet. The people don’t trust the government, and the Supreme Court shoots down any attempts at reform. Herbert Hoover has lost his reelection bid by a landslide to the more progressive Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who promises change. In this committee, delegates will take on the role of FDR’s cabinet, his closest advisors, and other key figures in the federal government. Delegates will be challenged to tackle the overwhelming challenges of the Great Depression, including economic policy, foreign affairs, balances of power, and workers’ rights, all while keeping a struggling government afloat. It is time to reevaluate and revolutionize: make it do or do without.
