Description

After King Malietoa Laupepa's death in August of 1898, the islands of Samoa are plunged into chaos as multiple men vie for power, influence, and ultimately the throne. To make things worse, imperial powers from overseas—the Americans, British, and Germans—squabble over influence in the Samoan island chain, each backing a candidate for King. This leaves Samoa’s fate an open question; will one Empire grow at the expense of others, will the Samoan people be partitioned as history tells us, or will Samoa rise free and united from this conflict?
